Double T's

I wanted to talk about some games I got recently: Too Human and Tales of Vesperia.

Too Human is an Action/RPG/Adventure game from Silicon Knights. Apparently the game took ten years to be made... and the game took less than ten hours to beat. The game based on Norse mythology has an interesting concept, a good story and high quality graphics, but there are only four levels, four bosses, and one or two mini bosses. If it wasn't for the overly challenging monsters on the co-op mode, it would go by even quicker. The annoyingly long Valkyrie cut-scene when you die gets old after about three deaths. I guess it's better than a loading screen with ominous music like you would find on Mass Effect, but unlike Mass Effect you w
ill probably die a whole lot more right afterwards. If you're an achievement whore (you know who you are) you should definitely rent this game because over half of the achievements, at least 700 gamerpoints, are extremely easy to get.
I recommend this game as a Rent, and only if you like Norse mythology, a quick play-through, or achievements. As my boyfriend would say, "Now Diablo 2... That was a good game."

The other game I wanted to talk about is Tales of Vesperia, the RPG from the Tales Series. This game is definitely everything I expected and more. The characters in this game had really good development and background stories. I am a little disappointed that there are only
6 playable human characters, and that a dog is actually playable. The story might not be as interesting and exciting as I found Symphonia, but at least there are no dumb blonde girls that keep falling down. I could even put up with Karol more than Genis. The achievements on this game can be tough, but all the bigger gamerpoints are achieved throughout the story. The Secret Missions for each boss can be pretty tough, but if you want 100% completion (not to mention an outfit for Yuri), then you gotta do them. One of my favorite parts of the game are the little Kow Kids - they are quite adorable. Another thing is that I decided to look at the downloadable content for ToV, and it is quite laughable. Why would you spend your money on things you should just be playing the game to get? The dlc available includes: +10 levels, +gald, and titles for your characters. Seriously?
I would say this game is definitely a
Buy if you like RPGs, the Tales series, or if you try the demo.

See You on the Xbox!

History of Gaming

For my first post ever on this blog, I thought I would start off by talking about games in general, and my gaming history. When I was just a wee little lass I got my first game system: the Super Nintendo. I remember playing Aladdin and Super Mario just about every day. We had other things like Mario Paint, which I found out not too long ago you can find the composer from Mario Paint online. It's pretty awesome and you can find youtube videos like "Still Alive"(from Portal) or "What is Love" where people have made real songs on Mario Paint Composer and it actually sounds really good. I think the best I ever did on Composer when I was a kid was make it sound like a possessed child or a demented cat being hit against the wall Monty Python style.

So after the greatness of the Super NES, I got a Nintendo 64. I didn't have quite as many games, but
the quality was definitely improving. Super Mario 64 and Gauntlet stick in my mind most. However, I do recall playing Jeopardy on the 64, and yes it was also hosted by Alec Trebeck. After that I got the Gamecube for Christmas one year. Gamecube was probably the one system where most of the games didn't have a real point. I had Animal Crossing, which never ended, and I tried games like Harvest Moon and Pikmin. Some of my favorite games of all time were on the Gamecube: Tales of Symphonia and the Legend of Zelda games. I had a brief stint with the PS2 and fell in love with Sora and Kairi, and I re-fell in love with Disney Princesses on Kingdom Hearts I & II.

Eventually, I got my Xbox 360 and now it is my main system as well as my main source of entertainment. I'm on the 360 almost all the time, and while on Xbox live, I am MissApril18. I own about 20 games at the moment and have 4 games I am planning to get before the end of the year. I mostly play Call of Duty 4, Command & Conquer 3, Guitar Hero 3, Grand Theft Auto IV, Forza Motorsport 2, and Tales of Vesperia. I can't wait for: Fable 2, Fallout 3, Farcry 2, and Gears of War 2.

See you on the Xbox!
